Description Our chapter presents how the famous character of the detective genre, Sherlock Holmes, is used for fun yet didactic purposes. It follows the influence that A. Conan Doyle's stories have had on Czech literature for children. In particular it pays attention to their transformations in different genres, mainly comics and cartoons, which adapt and enrich them while making use of their own specifics.
