Description | The article presents the method and current issues of an interactive approach towards translation while stressing its intercultural aspects - sensitization to socio-cultural differences - as well as lexicological ones - sensitization to language registers and language gaps. Between February and June 2008, two Faculties of Arts (Charles University in Prague and Masaryk University in Brno) organized a student competition in translating Boumkoeur by Rachid Djaidani. The novel introduces life of the young in French suburbs. The entire didactic activity was aimed at linking translation theory and the more practically-minded problems of stylistics and lexicology. |
