| Description | When approaching the figure of the Spanish hero Cid, it is necessary to distinguish two levels. One of them is related to Cid as a real historical person, the other is linked to Cid as a medieval epic poem hero, i.e. as a literary figure. Nevertheless theese two levels are often not respected. It is interesting to follow both the changes in the approach to the figure of Cid during the 20th century, and their reflections in literature. |
