Classroom management strategies

Standard project of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (2016-2018)

Implementation team: Kateřina Vlčková, Kateřina Lojdová, Josef Lukas, Jan Mareš, Tomáš Kohoutek, Lucie Škarková

The project deals with classroom management strategies of student teachers on long-term practice and experienced teachers (their "practice teachers") at the second level of primary school. The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of the concept of classroom management strategies at a theoretical and empirical level and to support its possible practical applications.

The project has the following sub-goals:

  1. To contribute to the development of the concept of classroom management strategies in the Czech pedagogical discourse and to base it on research evidence.
  2. To identify how classroom management strategies and their conceptualisations differ between student teachers (beginners) and experienced teachers (their trainee teachers).
  3. Contribute to the development of mixed research theory and applications.
  4. To contribute to the application of knowledge about classroom management strategies in the context of teacher professional development stages to the curriculum and education of student teachers, teachers and mentors.
  5. Contribute research findings to the ongoing debate in education policy on the Quality Standard for the Teaching Profession.
  6. To publish a monograph comprehensively covering classroom management in the context of the Czech environment.
