Popis | The main aim of the study was to examine the relationship between interaction style of coach and perceived training load in elite adolescent athletes. We focused on mapping of occurrence of overtraining syndrome in this group based on gender and type of sport. The secondary aim was to verify the basic psychometric characteristics of used methods. Czech versions of following questionnaires – Profile of Mood questionnaire and Questionnaire on Supervisor were administrated to 447 young elite athletes (111 girls, 333 boys) from 11 to 19 years old at national and international level. The results show relationship between interaction style of coach and level of perceived training load among elite adolescent athletes. Results also confirmed the existence of gender differences and differences between individual and team athletes in the level of perceived training load. Analyzes have shown that women and individual athletes score more than men and athletes in team sports in the level of perceived training load. We did not confirm the assumption of the different interaction styles used by male coaches and women coaches. The results of this study can be used in coaching practice as a guideline for interaction with young elite athletes and prevention of overtraining syndrome. |
