Popis Researching teaching approaches and methods to teaching grammar has been discussed recently. According to statistics by National institute for certified educational measurements in Slovakia, secondary school students have been achieving the lowest score from language in use part of the test on average. The current learning standars for secondary schools in Slovakia prefers constructivist approaches to teaching. Discovery learning reflects on constructivism. This presentation deals with current state of the teaching of grammar in a foreing language classroom, teachers' beliefs about grammar teaching and applying constructivist theories into grammar teaching and learning process in secondary schools in Slovakia.
