On Artistic Interventions in the Field of Synthetic Biology and Synthetic Ecology

| Popis | On the intersection of art, science and technology, the ongoing PhD project explores artistic interventions in the field of synthetic biology or synthetic ecology. It draws on thinking about the categories of technology and nature and their interconnection such as posthumanism, as well as approaches to the redefinition of humanity and the status of non-human actors, including flat ontology. Two of the main answers this research is aiming to provide are on (1) working with and for the non-human actors, (2) how to better describe the “horizontal” relations between human and non-human actors. In other words: I will lay down the theoretical foundation and the process (methods and tools) of this research project. By outlining its dominant concepts as well as introducing the work in progress, I hope to start a multilogue with you: fill and/or create gaps in the research itself. |
