| Popis | As part of the round table on interpreting in the crisis situation of 2022-2023, we presented the aims and preliminary results of our research. While working as volunteers we noticed that Ukrainian citizens that had been forced to stay in the Czech Republic after the outbreak of war often use machine translation. In our study, we aim to describe the specifics of the use of machine translation in the crisis situation by considering it in the context of translatological migration research. In particular, we show that in this case we can speak of self-translation. We then attempt to identify more precisely the factors, or circumstances, in which Ukrainian refugees resort to self-translation. |
