Among the exhibiting artists are also representatives of the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University, namely Ondřej Navrátil, Františka Orságová and Petr Kovář from the Department of Art. The exhibition is part of a wider project based on the Academy Art Gallery Interchange network.

The Academy Art Gallery Interchange Network is a platform that not only supports the development of artistic projects, exhibitions and research in the framework of international mobility programmes, but also seeks to connect the academic and cultural programmes of its partners. The aim is to analyse common problems, promote creative initiatives and strengthen research and international exchange through the arts.

Culture Beat 2

As part of the international art festival BAG 7, organised by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Granada, the international art exhibition Culture Beat 2 opened on 15 November. The first edition of this international project took place in Poznan, Poland, in April-May 2024 as part of the Poznan Art Week; the exhibition was curated by Joanna Marcinkowska and supported by the Spanish and Italian embassies in Poland.

In line with BAG 7's theme of unusual events, small stories and identities of place, this second installment of Culture Beat focuses on exploring the cultural and historical characteristics and specificities of the participating countries - Spain, Chile, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Serbia and Uruguay - and their regions.

The exhibition, which brought together a total of 30 artist-educators, was curated by Jesús Osorio, Professor of Drawing and Vice Dean for International Relations, and María Dolores Gallego, Professor of Painting and Coordinator of Exhibition Curation and Communication at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Granada. Through the 27 projects on display, we are invited to reflect on the character of places and the different manifestations and aspects of our traditional cultures, to explore parallels, clashes and differences, and to discover the stories and uniqueness of each place. This continuously evolving international project becomes a living platform for intercultural dialogue and mutual discovery through the arts, celebrating authenticity and uniqueness in an increasingly globalised world.

The exhibition Culture Beat 2 is open in the exhibition hall of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Granada from 15 November to 13 December 2024, Monday to Friday between 9 am and 9 pm. Parts of one of the projects are displayed in several souvenir shops in the city.
