| Description | Structural and system crisis of capitalism created space for the postdemocracy. Legal state and parliamentary democracy are being replaced gradually by a system of lobbying power groups that aim at reaching such rules of game that will be convenient for the most powerful economic groups (C. Crouch). The ending capitalism could be replaced by another system, e.g. economic democracy according to Schweickart. That would enable the citizens to control the economical processes, but civic society has wider possibilities in normative projects by Habermas or Rawls. |
