Description | A new technique for determination of trace elements in submicroliter sample volumes, diode laser thermal vaporization inductively coupled mass spectrometry (DLTV ICP MS) is presented. The technique employs low-cost components, such as a diode laser, a simple laboratory-built chamber and common filter paper as the sample carrier. Rapid and reproducible DLTV determination of Pb and Cd in whole blood is demonstrated. The advantages of LDTV are also very low consumption of sample solution, easy sample archiving and transportation and option of prearranged multi-elemental calibration sets. |
