Description We try to find which type of sentence can be used as answers to Wh questions with Czech adverb kam/where. The choice of the correct and adequate answer depends on the verb in the question (considering the verbs of motion, verbs of speaking, verbs poslat, nést, nosit, vézt, vozit), on the position of the question and answer in the text, on the structure of text (monologue x dialogue) and on the interpretation of the communicative conditions and relation between the illocution and proposition of the answer. There are expressed in the answers to the Wh-questions with kam usually: location or direction, expressed by the prepositional phrase (do + noun, na + noun…) in the answers to the questions with the verbs of motion or with the verbs of speaking; purpose (the infinitive or prepositional prase); it is typical only for the answers to the question with verbs of motion. Some sentences can be perform as adequate answers to WH-questions considering the communicative conditions and relations between the function of the answer and its proposition or considering the relations among the clauses of the answers.
