| Description | The treatise is focused on analysis of the text of the novella by O. Bystřina and presents results of that text analysis: eighty-year-old man Izidor Šelepa gets due to coincidental time transition from the end of 18th century, when he lives in the village Věrovany, into the end of 19th century into the same village. In 18th century he is reconciled himself with the poverty, with the statute labour, he is damns people from his village who speak the against the manorial lords and against difficult condition of life. In 19th century, in the period of freedom and in better life, when people spend some time by entertainment, Izidor Šelepa does not understand the life of peoples of Věrovany, he is almost taken surprise and unawares by some technological conveniencies (bicykle, vehicle, train with the steam engine...). There are two of Czech language structure in the text of the novella: literary Czech with some bookish language form – coupling with genitive: nezbylo času na dlouhé přemýšlení; už toho všeho není; který podobného utiskování sedláků netrpěl; uncommon word binding with prepositions: nastal čas vhodný ku pracím polním; poslední (syn) dostal se za lokaje k panu barónovi do Olomouce; and dialect from the region Haná of Central Moravia (vernacular words hradčica, čagan, glvať). There is one typical vernacular grammatical form in the text: 3. Person in the plural is used as a pronouncement of respect withthe old man – Izidor Šelepa. Author O. Bystřina use the language grammatical form only when he is speaking about Izidor Šelepa (speaking about other persons he is using only 3. Person in the singular) – see for example: Žádný v dědině nepamatuje, že by to numero bylo bývalo jednou gruntem, jak stařéček Šelepa houževnatě se vzpírali. |
