Description The contribution summarizes the results of music preferences survey of university students with respect to their music education. The survey focused on influence of these levels of education on music preferences, toleration of music and its genres, and the ability to identify music genres. The influence of music education of university students on their music preferences, on toleration of music and on ability to correctly indetify music genres heard was confirmed. In general music education has therefore positive influence on acceptance of music and its knowledge. The contribution specifies different results of students with different types of music education.
