Description The studies performed in the area of relations between the economic and cultural structures of the society triggered the systematic researches of the distribution, functioning and values of proper names. These efforts gave birth to a new line of onomastics – i.e. socioonomastics. The seventhies provoked a great interest in textual and stylistic aspects of proper names, and this was the beginning of the literal onomastics. With its evolution, gradually the „stylistic onomastics” started to constitute itself as a specific research area within the literal onomastics. Originally, the investigations of the psychologically based attributes of the proper names fell under psycholinguistics. Then, the psychoonomastics has been established as the natural outcome of an on-going combination and convergence of psycholinguistics and onomastics. The psychosomatic effect is extremely convincing while observing the role the hypocoristics play in a specific communication environment – i.e. in the purely personal, intimate communication going on between a man and a woman. The specifics of this communication environment are being analysed together with the reflections of positive and negative emotions on the types of used hypocoristics and words substituted by the hypocoristics. Also stylistics aspects are subject to the investigation. The findings and learnings can be utilized not only in the psychoonomastics, but also in psychology and stylistics. The theoretical study is appended by the overview of the hypocoristics used to replace the proper name Eva in different languages.
