Description | Education creates a place and time for interaction and communication. The chapter presents results of analysis of communication and social interaction, type of communication partners and behavioral state of pupils with severe intellectual and developmental disabilities in segregated settings of special elementary schools in Slovakia with respect to number of pupils in the classroom. In the research we used indirect structured observation of a group of 36 pupils with severe intellectual and developmental disabilities. Observed variables were systematically recorded and coded. Presented results are a part of larger dissertation research of the author, which analyzes selected determinants of education of pupils with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities in Slovakia in inclusive and segregated settings. |
