Description Several petrographical researches of psamitic sediments were done in Rosice-Oslavany and Padochov Formations in Rosice-Oslavany Coalfield (Czech Republic). Our research shows, that a different type of sediment occurs in Rosice-Oslavany Coalfield, especially in Rosice-Oslavany Formation. It was found, that the composition of so-called sandstones, in fact, corresponds to arkoses, arkosic sandstones and in one case greywacke. Also untypically high biotite content (18 %) was found in one arkosic layer. Rock composition in Padochov Formation is more uniform, psamitic rocks were described as arkoses, but in one sample sandy limestone was identified.
