Description The work concerns building up and operating the network of secret collaborators of Czechoslovakian secret police - State Security (Státní bezpečnost) between 1948 and 1950. The role of the so-called agent central office and its head Erich Mach is emphasised. Erich Mach attempted to face the problems connected with gaining and directing the secret agents by strict planning of their work, which was introduced as a daily routine in 1950 (and withdrawn soon afterwards). The paper presents a practical example of this scheme on the case of a hotel "Společenský dům" in Gottwaldov (today Zlín).
