Description Among the students of Masaryk University were implemented two research projects: one charted experience, opinions and attitudes towards addictive substances (almost 10,000 respondents), the second concerned the preventive activities in academic environment (almost 2,200 respondents). In both cases, the use of anonymous questionnaires. Most commonly used addictive substances in the file belonged alcohol, tobacco, black coffee, cannabis, hallucinogens, depressant drugs and ecstasy. On campus there's been activity of drug traffickers. The main reasons for drug experiment ranked with curiosity, evoke pleasant feelings, stimulation or inhibition, need for sociability. We have found a very tolerant attitude towards alcohol and so-called light drugs. Prevention of dependence was addressed only 20% of the sample, especially in teaching and lectures in the form of monologues without feedback. Activities focused mainly on legal drugs, few other substances and addictive behaviors. Students evaluated prevention at the University as unsystematic, random, she was dedicated to lack of time, the offer was poor. Changes in the primary prevention and counseling at Masaryk University are very needed.
