Description The article points to new findings concerning the influence of the type of slides on the effectiveness of PowerPoint presentations use in education. The authors of this article evaluate a total of 80 presentations from Methodological portal of RVP (Framework Educational Programme) intended for use in teaching chemistry at lower secondary school. They found that only a few presentations meet the recommended rule of using so called concise slides or a similar but longer known rule called 6 x 6. At the same time it has been showed that expectations of users about good presentation are in opposition to the principles mentioned above. The authors believe that it would be very appropriate to speak with university students that are preparing themselves to profession of teacher, about these findings, for example in subjects with didactic focus that aim to teach students to use computers for developing their own teaching materials.
