Description Child prostitution is a form of commercial sexual exploitation of children. In the Czech Republic its incidence has increased significantly since 1989. There are currently from 500,000 to 1.2 million children in child prostitution each year. Such high figures appear despite the efforts of experts. After the first World Congress against Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in Stockholm in 1996, the incidence even increased. This paper describes the results of quantitative research in which we investigated the awareness of the 8th and 9th grade pupils of this issue, as it is awareness that should be the basis for prevention.
