Description The aim of this paper is a description of a word order in Old Czech, humanistic and baroque biblical translations of the Gospel of Matthew of the 14th to 17th century. The analysis is focused on the word order of modifiers in the noun phrase, one of which is a possessive pronoun. More specifically, the position of possessive pronouns among nominal modifiers and its development is studied to determine whether the position in pre-nominal modifiers has been fixed or there were any distinctive changes in the position against the head noun. The type of the noun phrase such as genitive noun phrase, predicative noun phrase etc. is investigated as well, because it might have influenced the word order of the pronoun. Moreover, the results of the analysis carried out in particular biblical translations of the 14th to 17th century is compared with Czech ecumenical translation.
