Description Pencil graphite electrode (PeGE) is a simple, inexpensive and non-toxic prototype electrochemical sensor. It can have multiple uses, such as determining the oxidation behavior of biologically active substances that play a key role in the metabolic processes of living organisms [1]. The paper studied the effects of changes in surface composition PeGE the detection of purine derivatives. For these purposes was used adsorptive stripping technique in combination with linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and elimination voltammetry (EVLS). To increase the detection sensitivity of purine analysis conducted in the presence of copper ions Cu (II), which are able to generate the reduced form of purines poorly soluble complexes of Cu (I)-purine [2,3]. It was found that even a very small change in the surface structure PeGE significantly affects oxidative signals purines. For this reason, it was necessary to characterize the electrode surface using microscopic and spectroscopic methods. On the basis of comparative experiments were selected as potentially the most appropriate electrode potential sensors purines.
