Description The article deals with Czech literature for children (since the second half of the 20th century till the early 21st century) focused on the topic of the World War Two. The topic emerges in this literary context in several edition "waves". In addition to impressive literary testimonies written in the atmosphere shortly after the liberation the topic of war was treated in the spirit of the Communist propaganda. In the 1960s there were attempts to demystify the image of war but after the defeat of the 1968 democratic movement the official literature began to present stereotypical images again. The contemporary literature pictures war events mainly from the children's perspective. The article draws on a long-term literary-historical research.
