| Description | The importance of software art lays in its experimental and critical dealing with new media. Software artists point towards limits and constrains of the software functioning within different fields of our culture and society, as well as they investigate functional features and virtualities of programmed media and computer code representations. They bring in the surface the hidden layers of the programmed media materiality to make perceivable principles it embodies, often in their liminal forms. Therefore these artistic practices can be described as programming of excesses. |
