| Description | The chapter is focused on the using of assistive hearing and listening devices in people with hearing impairment. The emphasis is placed mainly on the children population, because in this age group it is often very difficult to determinate whether the hearing instrument (hearing instrument or cochlear implant) is appropriate and brings the benefit for the speech acquisition. In the conducted qualitative research study, the results of which are included in the article, observation was conducted with two boys with hearing impairment in preschool age. In both cases The Ling - 6 sounds were used as a tool for evaluating the responses of speech frequencies. |
