Description The paper briefly presents two works of authors focused on games, solving chemical quizzes, crosswords with chemical problems , etc. and some experience with their use . It has previously been shown that the use of purpose-prepared card games in teaching a particular subject matter can increase the effectiveness of teaching. As for the influence on longer-term study results, the authors conducted an experiment with promising results suggesting that in this way could the motivation by games be also effective. However, the experiment was arranged with a relatively small number of pupils. We also attempted to determine the effect of use of motivational tasks on the relationship the 8th and 9th grade pupils of primary school to chemistry. The results of this experiment (lasting 1.5 years) suggest that a partial positive influence on the relationship of pupils to chemistry could indeed occur, yet the authors urge for cautious interpretation of the results, because the relationship of pupils to any subject is influenced by a number of factors whose effects can not be avoided.
