Description | The chapter focuses on inclusion of pupils with hearing loss into the mainstream schools. First, the theoretical basis of inclusion is described. Secondly, the changes in terminology are discussed, and the difference between the term integration and inclusion are introduced. The main emphasis is on the key factors that influence the process of integration and the analysis of the sociocultural determinants of the integration preocess. The chapter summarizes the attitudes of all participants in this process, it means the pupil with hearing loss, his parents, teachers, and classmates. The chapter also contains the research results interpretation obtained by the authors in the time 2007 - 2012. Recommendations for the participants in the integration process and suggestions for the action are formulated at the end of the paper. |
