| Description | The author focuses on the character names in ten Vladislav Vančura s novels while respecting their chronological order. He came to a conclusion that Vančura when naming his characters used a great deal of first names both of Czech and foreign origin, commmon as well as unusual. Surnames were equally chosen among Czech and foreign, usual or rather rare names; some of them were created ad hoc. The study was made on the basis of a long-term literary-historical research. |
