Description The chapter deals with physical activity of women and its effect on recovery of heart rate after exercise. We were interested in the fact whether the informants who respond to the question in the questionnaire in a way that they perform mid-intensity activity in a bigger range than one hour per week score better results in the test of aerobic fitness. Similar to the questionnaire, this test is part of a project within Operation Program Education for Competitiveness “Building a research team led by reintegrated Czech scientist in order to find out about the level of physical activity (inactivity) in selected age groups of men and women in the Czech Republic” (CZ.1.07/2.3.00/20.0044). Measuring took place in different places in the Czech Republic. The persons participated in the test of aerobic fitness when their hear rate was observed through sports tester S610 (POLAR, Finland) and the desired pace of 120 min-1 was set by a metronome SDM-100 (Sencor, Japan). The values of heart rate were scanned immediately after finishing the test and then in 30-second intervals up to the limit of two minutes. For exact identification of statistically significantly different pairs, we used Fisher’s LSD post-hoc test of multifactor ANOVA. The recovery period after the test of aerobic fitness is significantly better in the 60th and 90th second in women who stated in the questionnaire that they perform regularly mid-intensity activity for one or more hours per week than in women who perform mid-intensity activity in the scope up to one hour per week (p < 0,05).
