| Description | Collection of works on the subject as part of the World Narrative painting contains a selection of original drawings and paintings on paper created by people with mild and moderate mental disabilities. The originals are supplemented with photographs of art activities such persons. The pictures show the activities that were initiated by students on teaching practice in the art studio for the mentally handicapped mansion Strelice (organization). Some of the exhibited works are the result of systematic spontaneous activities of authors with intellectual disabilities, for whom the language of artistic expression important way of communicating with others. Their visual statement about the world comes from pure - almost child's experience of the world that is not burdened by intellectual schemes and opportunism. Many of these clients from other social and medical devices throughout their lives, though not able to learn to read and write, their spoken language is accompanied by gestures and is limited to basic concepts, but make up a painting, sculpture or installation means to them to seize the opportunity to express strong emotions, imagination and the ability to articulate through the visual language of their natural experience of the world. |
