Description The second part of the Atlas of German dialects in the Czech Republic deals with the middle-upper German short vocals. The vocal relations in individual dialectal aleas are documented on the basis of 160 processed language maps which are based on the exploration carried out in 480 localities of explored area. Attached commentaries always continue with turning clock-wise to north-Bavarian dialect in West Bohemia, east-Franc in Northwest Bohemia and East-middle German in North Bohemia, North Moravia and Silesia. In conclusion, the following language islands are discussed: Hřebečsko, jihlavský, skřípovsko-brodecký, olomoucký, vyškovský and brněnský.
