Description The aim of the article is to compare socratic and heuristic methods in educational process of elementary schools. It describes advantages, disadvantages and usage of both methods. The article summarizes research methods and obtained results. Teachers of primary school and students at Faculty of Education, Masaryk University, Brno participated in a questionnaire. The goal of the questionnaire is to investigate the depth in which students and teachers are familiar with both methods and how frequently they apply these methods in the educational proces.
