Description The paper introduces the common stages of the scientific writing process and discusses those attributes of the scientific texts published in English that contribute to accuracy, clarity and economy of expression. Secondly, a number of stylistic, lexical and grammatical mistakes, errors, and shortcomings that are often found in scientific texts produced by Czech academics are illustrated and discussed in detail.
