| Description | The chapter contains a comparative study of translations of the French cartoon and comics Asterix chez les Bretons in Czech and Slovak and it examines their adequacy and equivalent kind on the basis of examples. While the Czech version of cartoon presents a case of unsuccessful translation, which did not realize the style of original, the Slovak version renders it better. The Czech translation of comics again presents an adequate and equivalent transfer. In comparison with the Czech version, the Slovak is less apt, it neutralizes the expressive turns of the original. |
