Description New technologies are often not available to students in the school. Expensive equipment requires a support of high purity, high vacuum and strict safety conditions. Cold plasma is quite widespread in many industries. However equipment for plasma surface treatment is quite simple to build and operate even in the school laboratory. Modification of the surface properties of materials can be accomplished by treating plasma on the surface via different precursors (nitrogen, oxygen etc.). A simple way to observe changes in the structure of the surface is the evaluation of the surface energy by measuring the contact angle with various liquids. The contribution presents research and experimental applivation of cold plasma in school practice. There is also a CD version of this book of proceedings, ISBN 978-80-210-7954-0.
