Citation
Description The conviction of Europe about its intellectual superiority might be seen as somehow relative while taking into account the fact that during the Middle Ages the European culture was significantly enriched by - in certain regards - intellectually more advanced Islamic culture and scholarship. Prolific contacts between Muslims and Christians especially in the Mediterranean Region contributed notably to the later involvement of European Renaissance, which laid the foundations of modern Europe.
