Description The course of Intercultural Communication was created to facilitate intercultural interaction of the international students at Masaryk University through development of their communicative and intercultural competence. With the support of an e-learning tool (moodle 2), the students take part in on-line discussions and write reflective journals in which they share their experience in intercultural communication which the students further relate to the theories of intercultural communication they study in the class. The students deepen their cultural awareness, acquire knowledge of their own and others' cultures to better understand cultural diversity in cultural practices and patterns of communication. They further utilize communication skills to minimize and resolve misunderstandings arising in intercultural communication and they develop attitudes encouraging self-respect and respect to others.
