| Description | This article deals with Jan Balabán’s prose work (his short stories and novels) from the point of view of (so-called) literary realism. Based especially on the Bohumil Fořt’s theory introduced in the book called Fictional Worlds of Czech Realist Prose and on his model of realist fictional world, this text tries to reveal and describe some of the most remarkable features of Balabán’s work. In this way, the specific meaning and dimensions of the concept of realism in Balabán’s work are explored. |
