Description Article describe two expeditions of Karel of Žerotín Elder. The first expedition to France from the years 1591-1592 was motivated by an attempt of unification of Moravian and Bohemian Calvinists with their French co-religionists (Huguenots). Karel intended to support Huguenots fighting against Catholics, he went on an expedition and led his own money troop hr financed. The result of a trip to France was Karel’s a passion for the Franche culture. The second expedition to Hungary in 1594 was purely military. Karel of Žerotín commanded one of the branches of Moravian army in battles against the Turcs. It has expanded his range of cultural interests.
