Description | In spite of the fact that the current economy is conceptualised by mainstream economics and economic geography as capitalist, it harbours a number of economic relations and activities motivated by non-capitalist reasons. The paper makes inquiry into the extent of non-capitalist economic relations and practices in the Czech society. Attention is given primarily to the extent of non-capitalist economies and to the motivations to participate in them. The paper builds on comparative perspective and ask a question whether there are geographic differences in the extent of non-capitalist relations in different geographical settings. Empirically the paper draws from the results of the large-scale quantitative survey (N = 2058) conducted in 2015 in Czech Republic. |
