Description Folk song is traditionally the starting point of music-educational work in Czech schools.The authoress presents her view on perspectives of musical – folklore heritage in conditions of contemporary cultural and social development. Based on findings of music-educational and ethnomusicological research the authoress presents possibilities for cooperation between both scientific disciplines. On the basis of specific examples from school practice this paper demonstrates possible applications of the results of ethnomusicological research into school environment. Folk music and folk song are means and goals not only for musical activities, but they can also be effectively integrated into different areas of education. This paper is focused on interdisciplinary approach within scientific disciplines and the use of integration within educational subjects in school.
