Description | The monograph highlights some of the determinants that influence the effectiveness of student teachers' teaching practice. Chapters deal with shaping the tacit knowledge of students during practice, sharing this knowledge with the mentor teacher, student reflection during their teaching practice and the tacit dimensions of teacher assessment of pupils. The monograph also includes chapters which present more serious problems regarding the effectiveness of teaching practice: the perceived benefits of the teaching practice among student teachers, the support of students' reflection by their educators, autonomous and heteronomous evaluation as a determinant of the effectiveness of teaching practice and authority and gender in student teachers' interaction with pupils during teaching practice.
