Description | The paper describes opportunities for creativity in visual arts amongst children of Slovak minority living in Gemelčička (Romania) and approaches of their teachers. Tutors (volunteers from Czech Republic) organised workshops there, which significantly raised their knowledge about possible creative activities. Local children don’t have much space for an authentic and a wide-scale artistic expression – workshops opened up their creative potential. Because local teachers were interested in learning more about the creativity of children, subsequently focused interventions into lessons of visual arts were organised in the local school in years 2003–2015. I analysed both process and results of interventions, which gave me a chance to see willingness of local teachers to change their attitude to visual arts lessons and appreciate its benefits. Creative activities on workshops provided them chance to improve their expertise and search for ways how to improve their own teaching methods. |
