Description The region of Jáchymov became the place of world exclusivity – it was the only place where the Soviet Union could obtain uranium immediately after the 2nd World War. This situation has brought massive changes to the landscape of Jáchymov associated with the development of mining industries and the need of labour force. This paper presents the whole complex of mining system passing through several phases. The functional mining region is defined as well as model of mining system containing the main objects and their relationships.
