Description | German dialects in the examined area can be divided into several partial dialectal areas (according to typical dialectal language features). In the area of Northern Moravia and Silesia (Nordmähren-Schlesien - the sphere of influence of East-middle German) we can single out north-west tip of Northern Moravia (Javornicko - Jauerniger Ländchen), then Rýmařovsko (Römerstädter Gebiet) and eastern part of Northern Moravia (Kravařsko - Kuchländchen). Within Hřebečsko (Schönhengst) which belongs do the sphere of influence of Eastfrankish dialects, we can distinguish Svitavsko, Moravská Třebová region, south-west and eastern part of Hřebečsko and Lanškrounsko (Landskroner Gebiet). Language islands in middle and south Moravia hold unusual position. In Jihlavsko (Iglauer Sprachinsel) we can observe the influence of middle and northern Bavarian language, in small scale there is also east-middle-German influence. The influence of middle Bavarian clearly prevails in Brněnsko (Brünner Sprachinsel). In Vyškovsko (Wischauer Sprachinsel) this influence is mixed with the features of east-middle-German. In the language island of Skřípov/Brodek u Konice (Sprachinsel Wachtl/Deutsch Brodek) the tracks of middle Bavarian and east-middle-German are documented. In Olomoucko (Olmützer Sprachinsel) east-middle-German features prevail over the north Bavarian. |
