| Description | A large part of heterosexuals assume negative attitudes and prejudice against homosexuals and homosexuality. Sexual prejudice is therefore the topic of this overview study based mainly on the analysis of foreign empirical studies published in scientific journals. The study synthesizes current knowledge about the form and rate of occurrence of discrimination against people with homosexual orientation, negative social-psychological impact of discrimination on individuals, and attitudes of Czech society towards homosexuality, homosexuals and their rights. Attention is also paid to the fact to what extent sexual prejudice, or negative attitudes, of heterosexuals against homosexuality are related to gender, age, religion, contact with people with homosexual orientation and other demographic and social-psychological variables. |
