Description Aim of this contribution was to present particular data addressing issues on maternal and techers' expectations about mutual cooperation in early reading literacy development. Analysis of in-depth semistructured interviews with 10 mothers and 2 teachers of first graders led in these results: 1) Teachers expectations from mothers contain regular everyday reading with children, by which teachers try to preventively act on possible non-reading - however, mothers interpret this expectation differently in terms of how much (to what extend) or to what depth it is compulsory, which affects also their different approach to reading literacy development. 2) Mothers expect teachers to give them information about their childrens' position in the class in terms of the reading skills - however, teachers are not eager to give it to them because they are afraid of the stigmatization of less skilled readers - however, they offer them the opportunity to make a comparison by themselves, although such opportunity is not used by mothers for the same reasons. 3) Part of the reading homework lies in the specific area od "no man's land", where an unclear responsibility of mothers and teachers as well as different mothers' approaches to reading literacy development emerge.
