Description The Bayeux Embroidery is one of the most important art-historical artefacts, which has survived from the 11th century up to the present day. The study focuses on a frequent question of scholars: Should we perceive the embroidery as a sacral or secular object? The article deals with this problematic issue by examining the artefact’s function.
