Description The study is focused on the presenting of topic Algae in eight Natural History textbooks. The aim of the research was to find out professional lacks in the curriculum on Algae. The content analysis method was used (Gavora, 2010, 2015). The identified lacks were divided into two categories – lacks in the classification of Algae into the system of organisms and other professional lacks. There were identified 4 types of lacks in the classification of Algae into the system of organisms and 61 other professional lacks in total. The results are compared with findings of other authors in the discussion, and on the basis of identified lacks, the impact on the education of pupils is derived. The article is supplemented by an appendix detailing the professional accuracy of the identified mistakes.
